Lily pressed her face against the window and watched the storm arrive. Dark clouds marched across the sky like an army ready for battle. The wind howled and screamed as it shook the trees.
Her little brother Theo tugged at her sleeve. "I'm scared," he whispered. "The thunder sounds like a giant stomping around."
Lily smiled and took his hand. "Don't worry. The storm is just the sky having a big sneeze. It'll be over soon."
A flash of lightning lit up the room. Theo jumped, but Lily squeezed his hand. "See? The lightning is like a camera flash. The sky is just taking pictures."
The rain began to fall, drumming its fingers on the roof. Theo giggled. "It sounds like the rain is knocking to come inside!"
"That's right," said Lily. "And we're warm and cozy in here. The storm can knock all it wants, but we're safe."
Soon the clouds drifted away, and a rainbow painted itself across the sky. The storm was gone, and Theo wasn't scared anymore.
